The Pfneisl winery's recipe for success is "tradition, innovation, love of wine and a connection with nature" - or to put it simply: "Born 2 make wine." With centuries of tradition behind them, the new generation, daughter Lisa, is already passionately committed to viticulture. She founded her own wine range "Offspring by Pfneisl" in 2015. This range stands for vegan, sustainable and produced according to the strictest ecological guidelines - unadorned wines of the highest quality with eye-catching and stylish branding.
The Pfneisls hand-pick national and international varieties from the best and best-known vineyards in central Burgenland with the utmost awareness of quality, vinify them with Gerhard and his daughter Lisa and age them classically in steel tanks or in small or large oak barrels. The majority of the 23 hectares of vineyards are cultivated in the home municipality of Deutschkreutz. In 1999, the family also created their own cru in Kleinmutschen, 18 kilometres away - the geographical centre of Burgenland.
In addition to the Austrian flagship varieties Blaufränkisch and Zweigelt, the international varieties Shiraz, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc as well as the white wine varieties Viognier, Grüner Veltliner and Gelber Muskateller also grow in the top vineyards. The top cuvées "Platinum", "Pentagon", "Hexenberg" and "Ego" round off the range, and the young wine line "Offspring by Pfneisl" is a wonderful addition to the established range.
Since summer 2018, the Pfneisl family has been welcoming guests to the lavishly renovated flagship store right in the centre of the Blaufränkisch community of Deutschkreutz.
